MBA Charity Golf Day – Lakelands Golf Course
Friday 4th October 2013
Lakelands Golf Club
In 2010 the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation was selected as one of MBA’s charity partners for their annual Golf Day at Lakelands, joining Guide Dogs Queensland and Hear and Say as their preferred charity partners. Since then the event has raised money to help the Foundation purchase medical equipment and fund valuable research and education.
The 9th Annual MBA Charity Golf Day was held on Friday 4th October and raised more than $12,000 for the Foundation. This year over 75 players teed off to support our work and the competitive bidding on auction items showcased just how important local health care is to our supporters and the community in general.
We would like to thank everyone who attended the event with a special thanks going to Vanessa Latta from The MBA Partnership for organising a great day, MBA Partnership’s Associate Director Nathan Moss and to Michael Spurr, CEO of Count Charitable Foundation for your continued support. We look forward to another wonderful golf day in 2014.
Community Open Day – Gold Coast University Hospital
Saturday 7th September 2013
Gold Coast University Hospital,
The new Gold Coast University Hospital opened it’s doors to the public on Saturday 7th September. Over 5,000 people came to check out this state of the art $1.7 billion hospital.
The open day gave the Foundation team an excellent opportunity to meet members of the community and to raise awareness of what we do and how individuals can help us improve health care on the Gold Coast.
We were joined on the day by one of our major supporters, Woolworths, who provided a sausage sizzle which raised more than $2,000 and also Infinity Attraction, who created an interactive stand so the kids could get hands on in having some fun. A big thank you to all the volunteers from Woolworths and Infinity who gave up their Saturday to assist in making the open day the huge success that it was.
Once in a lifetime opportunity – Annual Gala Extravaganza
Friday 9 August 2013
Gold Coast University Hospital,
On Friday 9th August 2013 450 people wined, dined and danced the night away in the new $1.7 billion Gold Coast University Hospital. It was an impressive venue with some amazing acts and performances through the night.
The team from Little Truffle provided our guests with 5 star quality restaurant food and service whilst taking in a range of live entertainment like an ice skater, acrobat, soprano singer and a band.
The support we received was overwhelming with more than $50,000 raised through various auctions and raffles through the night.
Next year’s Gala is going to coincide with celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation so we will be looking forward to another amazing event.
