Equipment Wishlist Grants
Gold Coast Hospital Foundation invites Gold Coast Health staff to nominate medical aids and equipment and facility improvement projects that will help ease patient distress and poverty caused by illness and disease.
Good examples of projects that have previously been funded to help achieve this aim are the provision of specialised strollers and walking aids for babies and children with physical ailments, relaxation haven for young cancer patients at GCUH, the beautiful outdoor courtyard spaces for dementia patients, the outdoor garden and fitness facilities for young mental health patients at Robina hospital.
Applications can be submitted at any time and are reviewed quarterly by our selection committee.
Ged Williams Early Career Scholarships
These awards are delivered as a result of a significant donation from Professor Ged Williams who was Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Gold Coast Hospital Health Service (GCHHS) and Clinical Professor of Nursing, Griffith University from 2007 to 2013. During his time with Gold Coast Health and Griffith University, Professor Williams was a passionate advocate for clinical excellence, continuing education and advanced specialisation across all domains of practice.
Building on his legacy are two annual scholarships, awarded to support early career nurses and midwives to assist with their post registration studies.

Nursing and Midwifery Scholarships
A small number (usually up 7) Postgraduate scholarships are available to Registered Nurses/ Midwives from GCHHS who are completing study in the same year the scholarship is granted or the year before. GCHHS encourages the uptake of post graduate study to develop a highly skilled workforce who are ready and able to help ease distress caused by illness and disease. These scholarships act as an incentive to pursue and complete specialised postgraduate studies.

Research Grants – currently under review
The Foundation’s research program is currently undergoing a major review with an aim to ensure that future activity is focused and helps achieve the Foundation’s primary objective to help ease patient distress and poverty caused by illness and disease. An uplifted and revised program is likely to be announced at a future date. Please contact the Foundation for more information.
Each year Gold Coast Hospital Foundation delivers training and workshops for health staff that help improve treatment for patients. Small grants may also be available for educational leaflets, films and materials that will help educate health staff, patients or the wider community with regards to specific illnesses and disease, the impact, treatment and management of these.
Applications for these grants open annually, generally in March through to May.
Allied Health Scholarships
Gold Coast Hospital Foundation is proud to acknowledge the contribution Allied Health makes to the healthcare of the Gold Coast community by offering Allied Health Scholarships in 2016.
These scholarships will provide an incentive for Allied Health professionals who have completed or are about to complete postgraduate study (between January 2016 and December 2016) which they intend to develop a highly skilled workforce to positively impact on health care outcomes. Scholarship recipients will each receive $1,000 in recognition of their achievement.
Applications for these awards generally open around August annually.
