Joe Hanlon

Chief Operating Officer

Joe is responsible for identifying and developing the Foundation’s commercial and business fundraising income base. This includes developing commercial partnership programs with the business sector and overseeing the Foundation’s marquee fundraising events. He leads and is responsible for the Foundation’s day-to-day operations service delivery of the Cancer Patient Transport Service and Family Emergency Accommodation Service programs.

Joe leads the programs team in design and execution of it’s serviced based programs and is a critical leader for internal and external executive stake holder engagement including government agencies.

Joe brings a wealth of experience in business development, operations and marketing to his role having worked in the corporate and commercial business sector for more than 20 years and has developed significant commercial relationships with some of Australia’s most recognised brands. Joe has owned two successful small businesses on the Gold Coast, before leading commercial sponsorship acquisition for the Gold Coast Blaze National Basketball League franchise and the Brisbane Roar A League Football Club.

Joe enjoys and values his time with family quite often going to the beach. His sporting love is basketball and he is passionate about serving his community. Joe has a weakness for his early cup of espresso and has a daily standing order at the Coffee Bug Cafe located in the hospital.
