Include a Gift in Your Will

A Gift in your Will is one of the most thoughtful and significant ways to leave a lasting legacy for future generations. Whatever the size or form of your bequest, it will enable the Foundation to further support and provide world class health care services and facilities for babies, children and adults – now and into the future.

Your support will help improve health care services and outcomes for patients across our health facilities, including Gold Coast University Hospital, Robina Hospital, and community-based health centres such as family and child health, post-operative care, rehabilitation and mental health.

Every gift, large or small, matters. If you would like to include a gift to Gold Coast Hospital Foundation in your Will, you can choose to leave a gift for general charitable purposes, meaning the funds are directed where needed the most. Alternatively, you can outline a specific purpose for your gift to help a particular department or cause that is close to your heart.

Preparing Your Will

  1. Consider how you would like to share your gift.
  2. Consider letting your family and loved ones know you are leaving a Gift in your Will, this is a personal decision but one we recommend, so they also know of your decision.
  3. Contact a solicitor or other Will maker to prepare your Will.
  4. If you would like to let us know that you have left us a Gift in your Will, please call (07) 5594 6986 so we can thank you and acknowledge your generous support.
Depending on the type of Gift in Will you are leaving, we suggest using the following wording in your Will:

Residual / Specified amount Estate Wording (General Charitable Purposes):

“I bequeath ___ percent of my residual Estate / the sum of $ ________ (choose one alternative) to Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, Gold Coast University Hospital, Level 1 Hospital Boulevard, Southport, Queensland, 4215 ABN 95387912125 to be used for its general charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of the secretary, trustee or other officer of the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation is sufficient release for the executors of the Estate without seeing to the final distribution of the funds

Residual / Specified amount Estate Wording (Specific Purpose):

“I bequeath ___ percent of my residual Estate / the sum of $ ________ (choose one alternative) to Gold Coast Hospital Foundation, Gold Coast University Hospital, Level 1 Hospital Boulevard, Southport, Queensland, 4215 ABN 95387912125 to be used for (Insert gift restriction) or similar health treatment, condition or research and I declare that the receipt of the secretary, trustee or other officer of the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation is sufficient release for the executors of the Estate without seeing to the final distribution of the funds
